7.7 FIRING ORDER

. [ Ganesan, pp 284-285]
The several cylinders of the engines will all fire once in the 720 degree rotation of the crank-shaft (or 360 degrees for two stroke engines). The cylinders and crank shafts are arranged to have the firing distributed evenly around the 720 Degrees. The sequence in which the cylinders from one end to the other fire is determined with reference to their effect on mechanical balancing, cooling, and exhaust pressure considerations.
